This is a two day intensive course solidifying basic map and compass navigation skills and digital mapping and tracking for team coordination when reception is spotty. Students will learn and practice practical skills:

• map and compass navigation; locate yourself and distant objects on a map using a compass.

• CalTopo digital online map tool for tracking and recording assets in the field.

• Integration of Google Earth and maps for planning (import/export)

• Realistic scenarios.

This course combines a one day hunter course with a two day wildlife manager course. The class provides:

•  basic understanding of drone safety, compliance, and operation

• practical use of drones for scouting, tracking, trip planning, and recovering game.

• efficient and practical operations for wildlife management using drone technology

• self rescue and search in impromptu field emergency situations.

• Course is taught by experienced drone surveillance, wildlife management, and SAR professionals.
